There are changes in life that occur in exceptional times, in horrific times, and often, during utterly mundane times. Heero Yuy has experienced all of these, but this latest change that falls upon him is challenging in ways he never anticipated and may make him have to reconsider aspects of what he finds important in himself.

Fate Uses Blood as Rhetoric
A mission gone awry leads to Heero, Preventers' top hacker and programmer, going out into the field to find his missing friends. When Duo is injured in the rescue, Heero finds himself unexpectedly emotional about the state of his friend and as Duo recovers he realizes something strange is going on within himself.
Heero, in his early twenties, has never bothered with thinking much about the idea of secondary sex characteristics. Doctor J assumed he was a Beta, and Heero had no reason to question it -- until now.
